Global Law Firm - 2019

Global Partner Conference – Berlin

Type of Event: Global Partner Conference

location: Berlin

"We wanted to reunite our partners for the first time in 3 years for a Global Partner Conference. The first challenge was bringing together 400 delegates from 27 EMEA countries. This event needed precision logistics and strategic intelligence. Lisa helped us raise the game. The event successfully united the Partnership—people still talk about it three years on."

For this Chief Marketing Officer at a Global Partner law firm, TWC offered the creativity and client-focused attention to detail they were looking for to design and execute this leadership event. Here's what we did…

What we did

The right home

We needed somewhere vibrant with venues that would cater for the delegates but it also needed excellent flight and transfer options to avoid delays and unnecessary expense.

Berlin it was!

The Intercontinental Hotel was our base - it’s centrally located which would provide easy access to all activities, with excellent space for the main partner conference, networking spaces and very comfortable bedrooms.

A graffiti workshop

We chose a graffiti workshop as the main team-building activity, bringing delegates at all levels to equal footing.

After a visit to the Berlin Wall for inspiration, delegates were tasked to create their own work on 12ft boards, showcasing their interpretation of the business values our Client was keen to have everyone reconnect with.

“Centring the teambuilding activity on the principles governing the organisation brought people together around company values. What stood out was the clarity and absolute confidence of TWC in what it does.”

Dining with a difference

We needed to create space for informal discussion and networking and a celebration. So we arranged two dinners with their own distinct feel.

The Arminius Market Hall for lunch; it’s a must-visit venue for anyone going to Berlin so it’s the kind of place people want to go to for food on the weekend, rather than a corporate venue, so it was a relaxed environment for delegates to talk.

The Bolle Ballroom for the formal dinner; as a surprise, we lit up and displayed the delegates’ graffiti artwork to bring everything together.

Extra touches

We brought out own water coolers to the hotel and water bottles to the delegates to minimise plastic usage.

We designed Wellness events and made them available for delegates in the morning - yoga, meditation and running.

All food was sourced locally to reduce food miles.

THE IMPACT

“The event had incredible feedback and successfully united the partnership—people still talk about it three years on.

Internal teams can deliver great events, but often don’t have the reach, time or supplier relationships to achieve this kind of impact by themselves. Lisa helped us raise the bar.

The TWC process is all about partnership reinforcement and ideation is an important part. It’s powerful to sit in a room with her and say, ’We want to infuse a sense of energy, commitment and ownership in our business. How can we do this?’”
