US Fin-Tech Company

A London launch. From online connections to real relationships

Why: UK Brand Activation

location: London

industry: Fin-Tech

The challenge:- A US Tech firm was preparing for its first London product launch, the perfect opportunity to move relationships from online to real life in a new market.

So the launch had a bigger job than introducing a product. It was an opportunity to bring customers and the brand together in person. To build trust, start conversations and establish the business in a new market.

The question for TWC was simple.

How do you turn global digital relationships into real ones that feel authentic for a UK audience.

What we did

Enticing invitation

The client was used to entertaining a US audience but had never operated in the UK before.

So we created a compelling invitation for a London audience and we knew the right alchemy of timing and location to entice them in.

For timing, we chose early evening so guests could come straight from work without committing to a late night.

For location, The Standard, King’s Cross has spectacular views over London, is easy to reach and well connected for the journey home. Relaxed enough for people to settle in, but distinctive enough to make the launch feel like an occasion.

We removed the practical barriers to entice people to come, stay and participate.

Designed to connect

Walking into a room of people you have only ever met through a screen can feel awkward. So we removed friction and designed the whole evening around connection.

Conversation cards gave people an easy opening. A family-style dinner created a natural reason to talk and share.

These small but intentional design decisions helped people move beyond polite introductions and start having real conversations. Nothing was forced. The room simply made connection easier.

Relevant design

A first event in a new international market is an milestone moment.

It was important that the experience felt true to our US client, but equally important that it felt relevant and authentic for the UK guests attending. That thinking shaped everything from the venue and timing to the format of the dinner. It even reached the goodie bags.

Rather than defaulting to Uber credits, which had worked well for US audiences, we chose thoughtful takeaways with the UK guests in mind. Small details like this helped signal that this experience had been designed for the people in the room.

"They immediately understood our goals and went above and beyond to deliver a standout event: securing a stunning venue, managing vendors, and ensuring every detail was elevated and on-brand."

The Impact

"I’d highly recommend working with Lisa and the TWC team for high-stakes executive events.

They helped to create a seamless experience for our guests — one that sparked thoughtful conversation, drove meaningful connections, and established our positioning in a new market."

The product was launched. The brand was introduced to a new market. But the most important outcome was what happened around the launch.

Relationships that had previously existed through screens began to feel real.

People stayed. They compared notes. Swapped details. Helped each other solve problems.

Could the product have been launched through a webinar? Of course. But when the objective is to build relationships in a new market, being in the room matters.

That is the value of designing an event journey around the problems and solutions of the business moment.
